In this week’s “Farmer seeks wife” it was time for meat farmer Mimmi Åsenius to make her final choice. It was between Erik Svensson and Jimmy Olofsson, when she finally chose Jimmy. But when we now get to take part in their weekend trip together, we learn that Mimmi chose to end what was between her and Jimmy.
– I felt pretty quickly after the final election that it wouldn’t work between me and Jimmy. So then I chose to end it, says Mimmi.
She explains that the thrill she previously felt disappeared more and more, and that she landed in the fact that she just wants to be friends with Jimmy. That’s why she called him two days after he left her farm on Öland.
Now Jimmy tells how he reacted when he got the call from Mimmi.
– I actually took it quite well, had been “slammed” when she said on our final date that she had feelings for Erik as well and considered not choosing either of us. I also thought it was too good to be true, it’s too surreal to meet your future partner in Farmer Seeks Wife, says Jimmy.
Going on the weekend trip as friends
Despite the ending, Mimmi and Jimmy go on the weekend trip together, as friends – but Jimmy didn’t go there without hope.
– She invited me and said I was the only one she wanted to go with, and we clicked and had fun together. You also get spoiled on those trips, I’ve heard… Then I thought that if there’s even a percent chance that she’ll change her mind, I’ll take it. She is stubborn, but if there is anyone, I promise to take it. I hoped for it more than I believed in it, he says.
– We talked on the phone for two days before, and when I heard her voice, I felt that it was she who I wanted to create a future with. She was just she with a capital h, he continues.
In the program you can sense a hostile atmosphere between Mimmi and Jimmy. But he now believes that the mood shown does not quite match how it actually was.
– It will be misleadingly bland in the window, we had great fun there, says Jimmy.
