Mikael Sandström became the “Sun Doctor” with the entire Swedish people when he appeared in Nyhetsmorgon on TV4 in 2013 – with a serious sunburn. The viewers were immediately taken by his strong burn, and the Sun Doctor’s ideas regarding sun protection created a hot debate in our elongated country.
He doesn’t use sunscreen himself – but that’s not something he recommends to anyone else. He told about his somewhat odd method when he visited The morning shift in P3.
In addition to that, he believes that sunscreen lulls us humans into a false sense of security as people have a tendency to apply carelessly and miss parts, and that the best sun protection is clothing.

In January 2020, the artist and presenter became Lotta Engberg interviewed in Aftonbladet, and then she talked about her single life. Lotta had then been alone for five years. In the interview, Lotta mentioned that if the “Sun Doctor” were to call her, she could imagine a date – and the rest is history.
Today, they live together in Mölnlycke, and the relationship seems stronger than ever.

For over 13 years, he has been a family doctor in Nyhetsmorgon on TV4, where he answered the viewers’ questions about big and small. Even in the future, Mikael “Soldoktorn” Sandström will participate in Nymo – but not at all to the same extent as before.
In a new interview with Aftonbladet, both Lotta and Mikael open up about their relationship and the future. But they also get into this job thing. Mikael is determined when it comes to the fact that he will not take up the medical profession again.

– I get questions from health centers all the time, but I don’t want that. However, I will continue with TV4 and “Nyhetsmorgon” this spring, even if it will be fewer times, he tells Aftonbladet.
TV4 has implemented several severe cuts. They have scrapped several of their major programs, and several big profiles have had to leave.
Even the breakfast on Nyhetsmorgon and the taxi journeys for the guests are throttled or reduced. In the interview, Sandström is asked if he too has been affected by the cuts. This as he will no longer be with every Tuesday.
– They claim that I don’t have it, but I probably do. But it suits me perfectly. I will be with you every other Tuesday now, whereas before it was every Tuesday. When I ask if they have a long-term plan, they claim it, but I don’t notice it, he says The evening paper.
Another change in Nyhetsmorgon is that Oliver Ingrosso has been given more time in the kitchen – something that not everyone is happy about.
