For several years he has dreamed of applying for Idol.
When Jonathan Bohlin gets to sing in front of the jury, the air goes out of him – he breaks down in tears and is comforted by Anders Bagge.
– There were very difficult feelings, he now tells TV4.
21-year-old Jonathan Bohlin from Skene is one of all applicants in Gothenburg. He has followed Idol since he was twelve years old, and even then the dream of one day applying for the program was born.
– I am incredibly nervous, he states before he steps in to the jury.
And the nervousness is already reminded when Jonathan introduces himself to the jury and happens to say the wrong age. When he has finished singing, he breaks down in tears.
– Are you sad? But little friend, what are you sorry for? asks a surprised Anders Bagge, who walks forward and hugs Jonathan before he gets four yeses from the jury.
This is how Jonathan reacted when he saw the episode
When TV4 reaches Jonathan months after the program was recorded, he remembers back to the day he stepped in and stood in front of the jury – and what he felt then.
– There were very difficult feelings… You got something so big done. It was a dream to stand there, I couldn’t really think about moving on. Even if the thoughts were about impressing the jury and getting a yes, says Jonathan.
– But then, I don’t remember very much from when I was there, he adds.
And it was also emotional when he himself saw the episode in which he takes part.
– It felt good actually, I cried a little looking at myself. A tear came. It was so sensitive. But it feels fantastic actually, really really fun. I don’t know… it’s hard to describe what it’s like to see yourself in the TV box. Just poof, there I am, says Jonathan.
– Near and dear ones have contacted us. I then bought TV4 Play+ to be able to watch the program in advance. I showed mom and she said she was proud, and my little sister cried when she heard me – so cute! he continues.
