The beach volleyball duo has had a successful year behind them.
But Hellvig and Åhman are still not quite ready for the Olympics in Paris 2024 – despite the fact that they have been selected by the Swedish Olympic Committee (SOK) and that they have enough qualifying points.
“It will be enough that we sign up”
– It is not completely official. The qualification rules work such that we have to play twelve competitions together during the qualification period in order to play in the Olympics, says Jonatan Hellvig in Morgonstudion and adds:
– So far we have only played nine.
But the duo expects to play at least three more competitions before the Olympics, which begin on July 26 in Paris.
– It should be enough for us to go there and register and we can secure the ticket, says David Åhman and laughs.
