She is one of the most popular presenters.
But now Johanna Ojala disappears from the television broadcasts of Damallsvenskan.
– That has always been our ambition, Fredrik Johansson, press manager at Viaplay, explains to SportExpressen.
She was for a long time a highly valued ski expert at SVT in the Vinterstudion broadcasts. Then people were recruited Johanna Ojala to Viaplay ahead of the television channel’s major investment in winter sports in 2021.
I hope it disappears
But last year we not only got to see her in skiing broadcasts but also as the face of the Women’s National League. Many were surprised when Ojala appeared as the host of the football broadcasts before the winter season took over and she moved to her proper environment in cross-country skiing.

For the new season of the Damallsvenskan, Ojala will now disappear completely. The 40-year-old will have nothing to do with football anymore. Instead it will be Suzanne Sjogren and Lovisa Lagerkvist Giertta who takes over as presenter.
– It has always been our ambition that Suzanne Sjögren should work with our long-term investment in women’s football. And this season it works better for Suzanne to combine the presenter roles in the women’s league and the Formula 1 studio, says Fredrik Johanssonpress manager at Viaplay, to SportExpressen.

Won the Crystal
The reason why Ojala was allowed to host the program was because the TV channel wanted to give her confidence before the upcoming winter season.
– Johanna was the best and most exciting solution last season when we wanted to give TV6 viewers the opportunity to get to know her even better before the Viaplay Winter season, admits the press manager for the evening newspaper.
– Viaplay’s ambition has always been for Suzanne to work with our investment in women’s football. Then we get to take one season at a time.

Johanna Ojala was herself a promising cross-country skier but was forced to end her career at just 21 years old, due to a tough injury. She then became a coach at a ski gymnasium and in 2013 she joined Vinterstudion as a TV expert.

As the first woman ever, she won a Kristallen in 2016 as the TV sports profile of the year. Before the 2021 winter season, she took the step from SVT to Viaplay.
