Thats why Jenny Boden died in Beck Not my decision

“Cried a little bit”

At the end of the latest Beck film “Vilhelm”, a funeral is held for the detective character Jenny Bodén after she was shot to death, something that was emotional for the viewers as well as for Anna Asp himself, who played Jenny Bodén for almost ten years.

– It was quite special, I cried a little bit when I saw it (the funeral) myself, says Anna Asp in an interview in The evening paper.

According to Anna, many fans have reached out and expressed their sadness over the character’s death. Her mother also got in touch and said that Jenny Bodén’s funeral was painful to watch.

– It’s nice that a fictional character can evoke such strong emotions. It shows that people really get involved, says Anna.

That is why Jenny Bodén was killed

Anna Asp tells Aftonbladet that the decision to kill Jenny Bodén was made by the production company Filmlance, who produce the Beck films. The decision was made to renew the series and continue to keep it interesting.

– It was not my choice, but I was told in good time. It helped me to prepare, even if it was scary to read the script, says Anna.

Anna’s future plans are to continue acting and pursue her interest in music. She admits, however, that she will miss the Beck recordings.

– It’s not a job you just do for the money. Everyone wants it to be as good as possible, and it has been a fantastic journey, she says.
