“Made it harder than it should have been”

Adam Driver made it clear that he would not appear in another Star Wars film. Sean Haynes, one of the podcast’s hosts, then asked the actor: “You’re done [mit der Rolle]because the figure is finished?”

Adam Driver said yes. He added that filming the trilogy was very tiring for him and that he couldn’t quite cope with the director’s work pace, but also got in his own way.

Star Wars was a lot harder for me… I made it harder than it should have been. I didn’t fully understand the dynamics of such a large set. Everything I had worked on was pretty small and moving pretty quickly.

Driver elaborated

He further explained, “The director sets the pace on the set. I don’t like controlling that. I have to adapt. Spike Lee and [Steven] Soderbergh spin very quickly. It’s uncomfortable for me, but it’s her film so I’ll adapt.”
