That’s what his last film is really about

Thats what his last film is really about

He only wants to make one more film, and then it should be over. Quentin Tarantino still sticks to the promise he made years ago that he would end his directing career after 10 films. The first details of his probably final project recently landed on the internet. The work should be entitled The Movie Critic and possibly be about the important film critic Pauline Kael turn.

Tarantino has now commented on this for the first time and revealed specific details about his new film.

Tarantino confirms The Movie Critic as the next film

As Collider reports, the cult director spoke about his next film at a recent Q&A appearance at the Grand Rex Theater in Paris. Tarantino confirmed that his upcoming project is indeed called The Movie Critic.

The action takes place in Los Angeles in 1977. Ideally, filming will begin in the fall of this year. Tarantino also clarified that The Movie Critic will not be about Pauline Kael. After returning to his early childhood in LA in Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood, The Movie Critic in 1977 is likely to highlight the most important period of the director’s youth. The decade is the most important cinematic epoch for Tarantino.

Already in his current book Cinema Speculation * he devoted his own chapters to numerous 70s films in order to write about them with a mix of memoirs, film criticism and background knowledge.

Similar to Tarantino’s last film, The Movie Critic could again become a nostalgic combination of the mood of the time and fictional compression.
