Thats what Everything Lies is about

As early as 2023, ZDF sweetened the warm season with self-produced comedies – a trend that will continue this year: the station is focusing on humorous entertainment in its summer program. Comedy veteran Bastian Pastewka (LOL: Last One Laughing) was in front of the camera for one of the productions. You can find out here what the new film written by the Stromberg creator is about and when you can stream it for free.

Pastewka and Stromberg makers work together

Bastian Pastewka is certainly no stranger when it comes to humorous entertainment. The actor and comedian has been in business ever since he thrilled an audience of millions with his own sitcom Pastewka in 2005. He will soon be seen alongside long-time colleague Anke Engelke in the Prime series Perfectly Missed.

But the 52-year-old also regularly goes in front of the camera for public television. Filming for the ZDF comedy Alles lied took place in autumn 2023. Fans of dry humor should sit up and take notice: The script comes from Stromberg author Ralf Husmann, as odds meter reports.

That’s what the ZDF film with Bastian Pastewka is about

Bastian Pastewka plays Hajo Siewers, a family man who at first glance seems completely ordinary. However, Hajo is a notorious liar who cheats his way through life with untruths. The car salesman promises his customers the best of luck, but white lies, big and small, are also used privately all the time. When Hajo’s boss wants to fire him, she has to tell a particularly dramatic lie. He quickly claims that his wife Vera died in a car accident. At some point she gets wind of the fact that she is supposedly dead and surprisingly uses the opportunity to make a new start: Maybe it’s time to leave her old life behind.
