The legends have already survived a week in the jungle camp. The atmosphere there? Not exactly rosy. Since day 1 there has been arguing, bickering and bickering on all fronts. One jungle legend has suddenly found it too much: She promptly pulls the ripcord and surprises everyone. Hanka Rackwitz is an absolute rarity on TV. She used to be seen as a funky real estate agent on the scripted reality format rent, buy, live, but after that it went quiet around her. In 2017 she moved into the jungle camp and fought her way to second place behind jungle king Marc Terenzi. She was well received by viewers: Hanka Rackwitz did not pretend and openly admitted that she had mental problems. At the time she admitted that she suffered from anxiety disorders and compulsions, including a compulsive washing that made her everyday life hell. After the jungle camp, Rackwitz was unable to maintain her level of fame, probably also because she visibly felt uncomfortable in the tough shark tank of reality TV.
In the jungle camp of legends, she once again had the chance to present herself to an audience of millions – but it was already too much for the former TV agent in episode 7. Without further ado, she said the sentence of all sentences: “I’m a Celebrity – Get Me Out of Here.” And with that, her time in the jungle camp is suddenly over.

Even in the jungle camp of legends, it becomes clear from day 1 that Rackwitz has problems feeling comfortable in the group. She repeatedly gets into conflict with Thorsten Legat and co. – she is often accused of lacking energy and drive. She also always says what she thinks and feels: a trait that is not always well received in the camp. Rackwitz breaks down in tears several times because she feels that she is an outsider among celebritiesShe can only allow a little closeness in one-on-one conversations with her fellow campers. What is particularly bitter is that the dynamics in the camp remind Rackwitz of her previous life; she is used to never being accepted in a group.
In the morning, the campers are gathered around the campfire when Rackwitz suddenly appears in front of the celebrities: “I have something to say, my love. Good morning. I’m a star, get me out of here.” Without much warning, the former TV broker utters the sentence that suddenly catapults her out of the competition. The step was not easy for her: “Sure, I could continue, but I would pay too much for it. And that’s not worth any money in the world.” Rackwitz is open about the fact that the situation in the camp has become too much for her. She is taking this drastic step to “to protect yourself.” Previously, she had vehemently criticized her fellow campers on the jungle camp phone: “I’m ashamed to be here. I really don’t want to be shown in such contexts. That’s too antisocial for me.“

The group seemed surprised, but most of them took the exit calmly. Rackwitz wasn’t exactly popular – so it’s no wonder that the farewell was rather functional.
Sarah Knappik addresses what everyone is thinking: “But now she’s giving up her money. I would have gladly given her the money.” Knappik is alluding to a nasty jungle camp rule: It has been known for years that celebrities have to forfeit a large part of their fees if they voluntarily withdraw. Only those who are regularly voted out are allowed to keep their full fee.
Giulia Siegel seems more concerned. According to her, Rackwitz was thrown out of the camp: “Five people in the camp have Hanka made life so hellthat she simply couldn’t do it anymore.” However, she does not reveal who she means.

As always, the jungle camp community has its say – but the verdict against Hanka Rackwitz is extremely harsh: Many are of the opinion that the sensitive TV agent has no place in the camp.
An angry Instagram user lets out her frustration: “Sorry, but I think she was in the wrong camp from the start… Maybe she should go on a longer course of treatment or something.” Rackwitz is making it too easy for herself by shifting the responsibility for her departure onto the other campers, according to one Instagram comment: “It’s easier to blame everything on others than to work on yourself!”
