Frida Karlsson is one of the big stars of Swedish skiing.
Today is a very special day for the Swedish.
Because she turns 24!
Even as a teenager got Frida Karlsson his big international breakthrough in cross-country skiing. After winning three JVM golds, she got the chance as a junior to compete with a top world elite at the senior level at the World Ski Championships in Seefeld 2019.
Karlsson’s success
The young Swede would not disappoint anyone either and come home to Sweden with a WC gold, a WC silver and a WC bronze. It was a thunderous start to a flourishing career and since then Frida has collected a total of 10 WC medals and an Olympic bronze.

Last season she also became the first Swede since Charlotte Kalla In 2008 to win the prestigious Tour de Ski and the second Swede ever to succeed in the feat. Today she turns 24 and still has so much left in her career and so many more medals in her.

Frida’s secret
But why has Frida Karlsson succeeded so well? The big sister Fanny Karlsson reveals the secret behind all success.
– First of all, she is very competitive and stubborn. It doesn’t matter what it’s about, she will compete in everything! I remember when we were little and playing football in the yard, there were hot fights then and could be quite a lot of shouting. Our father can probably attest to that. There have been times when he came and just said to us: “Go in! Now it’s done!”, says the two-year-older sister in an interview with Expressen.
– Just having an older sister who is two years older has probably been developmental for Frida. She has always wanted to compete with me and join my teams in both football and handball, which she also succeeded in doing. She was the least on the pitch, but was still able to assert herself. She has an incredible winning skull.

Then Fanny reveals something that many people don’t even know about Frida Karlsson and how she is outside the public light.
– In the media, a picture of Frida can be painted where she is manic, has control over everything, is methodical and calm. But that’s not true at all, it’s not Frida. She’s out at the last minute with everything, it’s half chaos, when you come to her house, there’s of course a little dust in the corners… But somehow everything works out anyway. From the outside, everything may look perfect, but she may have struggled at the last minute to get it, the older sister admits to the evening newspaper.
– If you live in Frida’s life, it’s up and down, it’s a merry-go-round, it’s chaos and it’s a lot of fun.
