During Thursday, the police confirmed that the skeletal parts found at the end of August come from both animals and humans.
Now Britt-Marie Hägerman, who is an archaeologist at the County Administrative Board in Dalarna, states that the bones may be several hundred years old. She is also a trained osteologist, and therefore has a great knowledge of skeletons.
– Yes, this is exciting, the skeletal parts can be 500 years old, I don’t know when we last received such old bones, she says.
Will probably end up in a museum
The skeletal parts are currently with the police, but shortly they will be transported to the County Administrative Board. At a later stage, the National Antiquities Office will decide where the finds will be placed, most likely they will end up at the Dalarna museum.
