That’s how strong Ur-Palkia and Ur-Dialga are as attackers

In Pokémon GO you can challenge Ur-Palkia and Ur-Dialga on the Sinnoh Tour. Is it worth catching them both?

What kind of Pokémon are these? The “Primal Forms” of Dialga and Palkia represent their original forms, first encountered in “Pokémon Legends: Acreus.” Now they also appear in Pokémon GO.

How do you get them? If you want her, you’ll have to challenge her in raids during the Sinnoh Tour this weekend. Exception: If you chose Pearl or Diamond during the “Road to Sinnoh” research, you will receive one of the two via research during the Sinnoh tour – from Perl Ur-Palkia, from Diamant Ur-Dialga.

Otherwise, you will meet them at certain times in the raids on the Sinnoh Tour. You can find the complete Sinnoh tour schedule here.

How strong are Ur-Dialga and Ur-Palkia?

As a raid attacker: Both monsters are very strong and are some of the best dragon attackers you can have. Primal Palkia is simply a powerful attacker thanks to its move “Space Strike,” and Primal Dialga with “Time Noise” even fills a special niche because, as a Dragon-type Pokémon with an additional Steel-type, it itself is not vulnerable to Dragon attacks.

Both move past some established monsters in the meta, including crypto monsters – this is also emphasized by PvE expert Teban54 in an assessment (via reddit). Basically only Mega Rayquaza and Mega Garchomp are noticeably stronger.

As a PvP monster: Here too, the two Pokémon are extremely strong, primarily in the Master League due to their high WP values. In the current PvP rankings from PvPoke it looks like this:

  • Ur-Palkia is at number 1 in the current Master League rankings, winning against monsters like Kyogre, Giratina or Dragoran. His biggest weakness are fairy Pokémon or Dialga.
  • Dialga in its original form is now in 20th place, which is still very strong. However, it is particularly at risk from Ground-type Pokémon, which can cause serious damage to it.
  • Outside of combat: Both monsters have a special adventure effect that you can trigger with their attacks outside of battles.

  • Dialga’s Time Noise gives you the opportunity to extend the item duration of items such as smoke, the daily adventure smoke or star pieces outside of battles. For 5 Dialga Candies and 5,000 Stardust you get 6 additional minutes and can stack them again and again.
  • Palkia’s spatial strike increases the encounter radius. For 5 Palkia Candies and 5,000 Stardust, the effect lasts for 10 minutes and can also be stacked.
  • In short: Both monsters are a good choice if you need powerful fighters, with Palkia probably being the slightly stronger variant, but Dialga being able to convince with its effectiveness.
