Sweden’s ladies started the WC in Planica brilliantly. It was triple Swedish on the podium in the sprint through Jonna Sundling, Emma Ribom and Maja Dahlkvist and then combed Ebba Andersson home the gold and Frida Karlsson silver in skiathlon.
As if that wasn’t enough, there was another WC gold through Sundling and Ribom when the sprint relay was decided.
Expectations were therefore high before the ten kilometer freestyle, but then the American stepped up Jessie Diggins forward and won the gold ahead of Andersson and Karlsson.
That’s how much Frida Karlsson got Ebba Andersson in WC bonus
Despite missing gold, Frida Karlsson got the championship’s second silver and Ebba Andersson her first bronze.
The two skiing stars also got to share in the Swedish Skiing Association’s nice medal bonus. For second place, the 23-year-old received SEK 75,000 and third place was worth SEK 50,000.
In total, Ebba Andersson has now collected 200,000 kroner in WC bonuses in Planica, and Frida Karlsson lands on 150,000 kroner so far.
