The goods are reduced in price at least during Black Week
Ahead of 2024’s strongest buying week has News24 spoke with Prisjakt’s PR manager, also a consumer expert, Isabella Ahmadi. She explains that in 2023, a quarter of all products on the trading site’s website were listed where the average discount was 20 percent.
In addition, during the same period, the most popular product categories were televisions, advent calendars, air purifiers, portable speakers and headphones.
– During Black Friday, trade boils over with campaigns at various types of stores, but home electronics in particular stand out with good discounts. At the same time, it is very important to double-check the price history on a price comparison site before making the decision, so that you know that the price has not been secretly increased before the sale and that the offer is as advantageous as it appears, she says.

But which goods should you be extra careful about reviewing the price history and the discount on? Ahmadi believes that there are certain goods that are reduced to a relatively low extent compared to others.
– Last year we saw lower average discounts than average on, for example, drones where the average discount was 13 percent, perfumes and Lego were reduced by 17 percent and skin care by 18 percent.

Black Friday 2024: “Judge the price, not the discount”
In order for you to leave the store and be able to feel that you have made a good deal, Isabella Ahmadi believes that you should both think about and implement several things.
– Assess the price, not the discount. It’s easy to be seduced by pork discounts, but the deals aren’t always as good as they seem. Both fakes and price cheating occur during sales. You need to do your homework and compare the price in different stores and research the price history to be sure you found a real bargain, she says, adding:
– It can feel hectic during Black Friday. Prepare by making lists of what you need and want. Also feel free to find out what the products usually cost, so you recognize a bang deal when it appears.

Black Week 2024: How to reduce the price even more
When many are seduced by deep price cuts and what may appear to be good deals, you can still get the price down even further.
Consumer expert Isabella Ahmadi tells Nyheter24 that through knowledge, what you think is a low price for an item can be even lower.
– Firstly, you need to be well-read about the price so you know what the gadget should cost in order for it to be a good deal. Do your research on a price comparison site and you will see what the product costs in different stores and you can see the price history over time.
But is it possible to haggle and negotiate on the set prices? According to Ahmadi, it is not an impossibility.
– In some stores, price matching is offered, which you can take advantage of by comparing the price at different stores to get the lowest price. If the store doesn’t state they have one, you can still ask if they want to match the price, sometimes they can. Also, make sure to find out what the return policy looks like. If you are not satisfied with the purchase, it is important to be able to return the product, she concludes by saying.
