It was in the fall of 2020 that the police in Halmstad became aware of a cocaine stash under a highway bridge in Frennarp in Halmstad. When the find was linked to a grouping in the area, the police raided the home of one of the men, where detectives found a mobile phone, which was the start of an extensive police investigation.
The trial against the young men has been going on for several weeks and some of them have been in custody since autumn last year. Six of the main defendants are childhood friends and known to the police from before.
– What stands out the most is that it is Halmstad boys who grew up here with normal family relationships behind them, says Thomas Turesson, police inspector in Halmstad.
Evidence in the mobile phone
The police investigators were also able to find buyers in the men’s drug deals with the help of pictures, footage and chat logs. The men posed with cash, weapons in their mobile phones and in the material the police could also trace several places where the men had buried several weapons.
SVT Nyheter Halland has been in contact with several of the men’s defense lawyers who, however, were not available for any comment on the verdict.
