Did you know that ten years ago Jenna Ortega was part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) was? It would be understandable if you didn’t immediately think of her role. Because Wednesday’s leading lady and veteran scream queen was still a child actress at the time and had a small – but not insignificant – role in Iron Man 3.

In the third Iron Man adventure, scientist Aldrich Killian (Guy Pearce) develops the so-called Extremis Virus, which among other things strengthens the regenerative healing abilities. During the course of the film, Killian kidnaps the US President (William Sadler). He gets the information he needs from Vice President Rodriguez (Miguel Ferrer). He’s in league with Killian. Den Rodriguez’s little daughter has lost a leg and Killian promises that she could get it back with Extremis.

It’s a small but heartbreaking role that, while unnamed (IMDb lists her as Vice President’s Daughter), aims to explain why a supposedly good man makes a terrible decision.
Can the Netflix star still return to the MCU?
We don’t know how the girl’s story will continue after Iron Man 3 ends, other than that her father ends up in jail through the combined forces of Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) and James Rhodes (Don Cheadle).
It would be more likely anyway that Jenna Ortega simply a new Marvel role takes over if Marvel Studios wants to secure their talents for themselves. Stars like Gemma Chan (Captain Marvel, Eternals) and Michelle Yeoh (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Shang-Chi) have played much bigger roles in previous Marvel films and still came back with new characters. So nothing stands in the way of Jenna Ortega appearing in the MCU.
