The end of John Wick… for now at least
In an interview with Collider on November 2, 2023, director Chad Stahelski spoke about the end of the film character and confirmed that the 4th part of the action series represents the provisional end for John Wick:
It was just never the way Keanu and I saw it, so we worked and worked and worked and cut a bunch of sequences and took some things out and ended up making a single film like you see now.
But the plan was always for John Wick to end his journey the way he does at the end of the film, and that should be the end for now.

The death of John Wick at the end of Chapter 4 was also a wish of lead actor Keanu Reeves, who was so exhausted from the intensive filming that he didn’t want to go through the effort again.
