Björn Ferry was interviewed at the Sports Gala.
Then he couldn’t help it.
Out of nowhere he sent the cleanest pass – to Zlatan himself.
It was in 2014 that biathlon icon Björn Ferry gave thanks. The career spanned a full 13 years, and there were plenty of fine merits on the CV. Most memorable is perhaps Ferry’s incredible effort at the start of the pursuit in the 2010 Olympics, when he took Sweden’s first men’s gold medal in 50 years – after a feat in Vancouver.
The total show at the Sports Gala
Björn Ferry also won three WC medals, one of each denomination, during his career, but today he is perhaps most associated with Vinterstudion. It wasn’t long after Ferry ended his career before he joined SVT, and there he has become hugely popular with his lovely personality, where he is always straight to the point in what he thinks and thinks, and always offers himself.
There was never really any doubt that Björn Ferry would become a successful TV expert and popular TV personality. Already active, Ferry was an athlete beyond the ordinary, someone who always offered a joke when the opportunity arose, and someone who always took every opportunity to offer a laugh. And that was also the case when Ferry was interviewed at the 2015 Sports Gala – then it was a total show from the icon.

The pass to Zlatan
Namely, Björn Ferry was asked about how he felt about being at the Sports Gala, after a few years where he had to refrain as the risk of catching a cold was too high. He had also recently released a book about his life, and presenter Peter Settman then reminded Ferry that several other athletes had written books, including Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Björn Ferry’s book may not have sold as many copies as Zlatan’s, but in one area Ferry was significantly better.
And when he got the chance, Ferry took it straight away, with a pass that made the entire Sports Gala explode in laughter.
– He didn’t write his book, replied Ferry, to the claim that Zlatan wrote a book.
Ferry is of course referring to the fact that it was David Lagercrantz who wrote Zlatan’s book, while Ferry wrote everything himself. What a wonderful personality he has, Björn Ferry!
