FC Utrecht has been using two new lamps for a week. These ‘assimilation lamps’ ensure that the grass grows better in the winter when little light and heat enters the stadium. “We are very happy with it,” said Leffelaar. At the moment, the lights are mainly used around the goal posts, where the pitch is currently the worst. The lawn master would prefer to have many more of these lamps, so that he can fill half the field. “But they are expensive, so for now we make do with two lamps.”
