In the footage captured on the security camera at the nursery, it was seen that a student laid the child down on the ground, while another student jumped on top of him for minutes and punched him. While the poor child was curled up on the ground and trying to protect his head, the other child hit his head repeatedly. While it was seen that the teacher was not in the classroom at the time of the incident, a parent took his child and left the classroom.
TORTURE CONTINUED FOR 15-20 MINUTES
It was stated that the incident took place while the teacher went to buy food for the students and left the classroom empty for 15-20 minutes.
In her statement to the local press, the mother of one of the students at the nursery stated that there has been no caregiver at the nursery for a year and that the nursery manager did not take any precautions despite the parents’ request for a caregiver to be hired. The mother stated that the child who was beaten had a brain concussion, bruises appeared on his body and was taken to the hospital. Kazakhstan Children’s Rights Commissioner Dinara Zakiyeva said in her statement that the child’s life is not in danger.
While the police launched an investigation into the incident, Almaty Governorship Education Administration announced that disciplinary punishment was given to the nursery manager and the teacher.
