According to the statement made by the Pakistani army, a group of military personnel visited the region by helicopter to examine the aid activities initiated due to the flood in Balochistan province. After the examination, the helicopter carrying 6 soldiers, including Lieutenant General Sarfaraz Ali, moved towards Karachi.

After 6 hours passed after leaving Balochistan, the army could not hear from the helicopter and started a search and rescue operation.
