The Charge d’Affaires of the French Embassy in Baku was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.
According to the statement made by the Ministry, it was reported that an objection was lodged against the wrong and slanderous decision adopted by the French National Assembly against Azerbaijan, to the French Embassy Charge d’affaires Julien Le Lan, who was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In the statement, it was stated that the decision of the French National Assembly was seen as an attempt to attack the normalization process of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia and the efforts to establish peace and tranquility in the region, conveyed to Charge d’affaires Le Lan.
Charge d’affaires Le Lan emphasized that the decision of the French National Assembly does not reflect the official position of the government and stated that he will convey the position of Azerbaijan to the relevant authorities.
In France, the National Assembly discussed the draft resolution, which envisages “Azerbaijan to end its aggression against Armenia and to establish peace in the South Caucasus”.
All 256 deputies attending the parliamentary session voted “yes” to the bill.
In the non-binding draft resolution, it was demanded that “Azerbaijan forces and their allies withdraw from the lands claimed to belong to Armenia”.
The bill also called on the French government to consider imposing individual economic sanctions in case of continued “occupation and attacks” in the territories claimed to belong to Armenia; It was demanded to increase the support of France to Armenia. (AA)
