TF1 programmed “Thank you Dorothée!” this Friday January 24, 2025, a souvenir program from “Club Dorothée”, to mark the channel’s 50th anniversary.

Thank you Dorothy!this is the name of the event program, scheduled by TF1 this Friday January 24, 2025 among the various programs dedicated to the channel’s 50th anniversary since the start of the year. Banking on the nostalgia of an entire generation of viewers for the Dorothée Clubthe front page hopes to bring together millions of curious people, who have come to discover what has become of their childhood idols.

Broadcast for a decade, from 1987 to 1997, the Dorothée Club has indeed left a lasting mark on the audiovisual landscape and collective memory, with its unique mix of cartoons, sitcoms and songs. Worn by Frédérique Hoschedé, Dorothée’s real name, but also “Jacky” (Jacques) Jakubowicz, “Ariane” Carletti, François “Corbier”, “Patrick” Simpson-Jones and many others, including the indescribable “Musclées”, the team has made millions of children dream. But what happened to the iconic faces of the Dorothée Club after the show stopped?

Deaths, desert crossings and life changes for members of the Dorothée Club

The members of Club Dorothée have experienced difficult times, even tragedy for some, with part of the team having now disappeared. Dorothythe star host, experienced a 13-year journey through the desert after the abrupt end of the program in 1997. She made her return to the stage in 2010 with an unreleased album and concerts at the Olympia and Bercy, before make it rarer.

Jackie (Jacques Jakubowicz), another key face, remained in animation on the IDF1 channel launched by “Club” producer Jean-Luc Azoulay. Until 2023, he presented the daily program “JLPP: Jacky washes cleaner”. As for Patrick Simpson-Joneshe turned to audiovisual production, participating in the launch of IDF1 in 2007 before moving to the United States to become a business manager in various sectors.

Ariane (Ariane Carletti), the sparkling co-host, continued her career in audiovisual at AB Productions. Involved in casting and production of numerous programs, she also continued to act in the theater until her death in September 2019, following a long illness. Francis Corbierthe poet of the band, devoted himself to the song after the show ended. The showman released three albums between 2003 and 2009 and performed numerous times on stage, until his death a few months before Arianne, in July 2018.

Grandpa René” also experienced a tragic fate. After setting up several musical groups, René Morizur died suddenly of a ruptured aneurysm in 2009. Raspberry bushalias of Claude Chamboissier, recorded parody songs and produced Matmatah’s first album before dying in 2015 from pancreatic cancer.

As for the “Musclés” precisely, the emblematic group of the “Club”, the roads have separated: Bernard Minet continued the concerts, recently going so far as to attempt covers of his hits in a metal version, with some success. Remy (Rémy Sarrazin), former companion of Ariane Carletti, composed for television films and continued in production, but he recognized that television had harmed his reputation as a musician. Eric (Éric Bouad) released a solo album in 2005 and participated in various projects, including some with his son David, bassist of the group Gold.
