Finnish forward of the Carolina Hurricanes in the hockey NHL Teuvo Teräväinen led his team to a 3–0 home victory over the San Jose Sharks. Teräväinen scored all the goals in the match.
Teräväinen scored two goals in the opening set and completed the hat trick at the beginning of the final set. The 29-year-old Finnish striker has now totaled 7+1 performances from the nine games of the season. Last season, Teräväinen still walked in the shadows, when he recorded 12 goals in 68 matches.
– This is nice. This is a bit strange, I’m not used to this. Just gotta keep going, right? Teräväinen, who scored the opening goal with superiority, set the mood.
Teräväinen has usually been a playmaker, not a goal shooter.
– At least after tonight I can be satisfied with myself. Last season I didn’t perform at my best. This is strange because I’m not used to scoring so many goals.
The head coach Rod Brind’Amour was satisfied with Teräväinen’s performance.
– He has a great shot. We’ve wanted him to shoot more here over the years. Today I saw what he is capable of, the Hurricanes pilot mused.
This was the second clean hat trick of Teräväinen’s Carolina career. He managed the previous one in 2017. In history, only two other Hurricanes players have managed a clean hat trick twice.
Hurricanest’s star forward Sebastian Aho was involved in Teräväinen’s first and third goals.
Carolina’s goal Antti Raanta prevented a shutout as he stretched in front of the puck 20 times. The victory was already the tenth consecutive home victory for Raanna, who was chosen as the second star of the match.
– Raanta made a lot of quality saves for us. Thanks to him, we were able to cruise to victory, Brind’Amour praised the Finnish goalkeeper.
Although Raanta received praise and was chosen as the second star of the match, he was not completely satisfied.
– I tried to do the right things and start mentally preparing for today. I don’t think I was close to what I could be. I believe there are still things I can do better, but you take what you get and keep working, Raanta thought.
In his first three games of the season, Raanta conceded a total of ten goals.
Sharks goal Kaapo Kähkönen recorded 37/40 saves.
San Jose is the only team in the NHL that hasn’t won even once this season.

Haula now has four goals under his belt this season.
In the second period, Sabres’ goal was changed Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, who allowed three goals and blocked 18 shots. In the early part of the match, the Buffaloes guarded the net Eric Comriewho was injured during the game.
