Tetanus warning from Health Minister Koca Lets not use the

In addition to the search and rescue efforts in 10 provinces after the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquake, citizens had concerns about various health risks. Making statements at Kahramanmaraş Provincial Health Directorate
Health Minister Fahrettin Koca shared that the mains water in the earthquake area poses a risk and stated what needs to be done to take the necessary precautions.

SOME OF THE WATER SAMPLES TAKEN WAS FOUND APPROPRIATE

Health Minister Koca said, “We have been carrying out water chlorination studies and measurements regularly since the first days of the earthquake. It has been determined that the chlorine content is sufficient in 1354 of 1533 water samples and it is insufficient in 179 samples. The analyzes reveal that the use of mains water as drinking water is risky. 176 of them were found inappropriate. I would like to repeat my insistent warning here. Governorship and district governorships should not use the mains water as drinking water by making a statement.

“THE PUBLIC HEALTH THREATENING SITUATION HAS NEVER HAPPENED”

As I stated in my previous statements, there is no public health threat so far. We gave tetanus vaccinations to the officials working in the debris in the earthquake area. Tetanus vaccines have also been given to earthquake victims, including the injured.
