When Närhälsan Dalsjöfors, as the only healthcare center, was allowed to test run the Västra Götaland region’s new records system Millennium, the shortcomings were clear, reports SR P4 Väst.

– I couldn’t write a prescription, it took a very long time, it didn’t measure up, says the doctor Anna-Eva Sandmark, who got to test the system in front of a delegation from the region.

Some things worked, some didn’t. But the delegation was satisfied.

– It seems that they thought it was ready to be used, says Anna-Eva Sandmark.

The region tells P4 West that “many tests” have been done to ensure the operation of Millennium, but none in an authentic environment.

The introduction of Millennium has been paused after a chaotic first week at Södra Älvsborg Hospital in Borås.

There were, among other things, incorrect information in medical records, words that were missing from referral responses and problems with emergency registration. According to the region, there was a risk that the patients would receive the wrong dose or medicine.

The matter has been reported to, among others, the Swedish Medicines Agency.
