“Tesla’s AI Day is postponed until September 30 because we would have a working Optimus prototype by then,” writes the tech mogul.
Optimus was presented for the first time in August 2021 and according to Musk will be able to perform everyday tasks such as shopping for food. Musk has said that in the long run the robot has “the potential to become more significant than (the company’s) vehicle production”.
In the presentation from last year, it emerged that Optimus is estimated to be about 173 centimeters long, with a weight of crochet 57 kilos and with a lifting capacity of 20 kilos. The robot will be controlled with the same AI system found in Tesla’s cars.
