Only 1,429 vehicles from the US electric car manufacturer were newly registered in Europe’s largest car market, according to the German transport authority.
The sales race comes, among other things, after Tesla owner Elon Musk expressed his support for right -wing extremist AfD during the election campaign in Germany earlier this year.
Tesla’s February results in Germany were completely across with the rest of the electric car registration, which in total increased by 31 percent.
In the UK, however, sales of the US electric car increased. The new registration of Tesla cars during the first two months of the year rose by 11 percent.
