Niger’s Ministry of Defense announced that a military group affiliated with the Niger army was ambushed in the Boni and Torodi region, close to the borders of Mali and Burkina Faso.

Stating that the attackers killed at least 17 Niger soldiers and injured 20 soldiers, the ministry said that the Niger army took the defensive and neutralized more than 100 terrorists. In the statement of the ministry, it was also stated that “The enemy was fought with the rapid reaction of the soldiers at the place of conflict and the intervention from the air.” The attacks are thought to be related to terrorist organizations.
At the borders of Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger, attacks related to the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda and DAESH are carried out. Niger borders are also frequently targeted by the Boko Haram terrorist organization operating in Nigeria. (UAV)
