In the final set, Classic came from four goals down to one goal, but Justus Kainulainen settled the match with an empty net.
The Oilers defeated Classic 8–6 in the fifth final of the Men’s F-League and advanced to the finals for the first time.
The Classic won the first two games, but the Oilers rallied and took a 3–2 lead with their win on Wednesday. The championship will be interrupted on Saturday.
The character of the match was forged by the power 4+1 Justus Kainulainenwho has now scored 21+9=30 in the spring 16 elimination game, which entitles him to the top spots in the goal and point market.
The Oilers got off to a lightning start to the match played at the Helsinki Ice Hall, when the Kainulainen brothers took the team to a 2–0 lead in just over five minutes.
Justus Kainulainen scored for the first time just seven seconds after the starting whistle and struck again when it was 5:19 on the game clock. Rasmus Kaunulainen assisted both goals.
– Wasn’t ready. I honestly don’t know what caused it. The feeling was good and relaxed before the game all day. In the second goal, we should have been able to score better. We warmed up to the game, Classic, a little too slowly Eemeli Akola said Ruudu in an interview at the end of the opening set.
Eight-goal second leg
The Oilers got the upper hand at the beginning of the second period when the winner of the regular season points exchange Ville Lastikka got two minutes. After that, both teams scored once, making the score 5–3 for the Oilers. At the end of the set, the people from Espoo screamed Tuomas Iiskolan and Justus Kainulainen’s goals for a 7–3 lead.
In the final set, Classic got a good look at the gear shifter. Albert KoskinenVille Lastikka and Alpo Laitila brought the team to the end of the goal. Oilers’ Justus Kainulainen decided the match when he tipped the ball into an empty goal in the final minute.
