Police took action after an eyewitness said he saw a crocodile carrying the lower body of a human in its mouth. In a statement from the Pinellas County sheriff’s office, it was stated that the alligator was killed and the remaining parts of the body of 41-year-old Sabrina Peckham were found in the water canal. How the woman died will be clarified through an investigation.
“I COULDN’T BELIEVE WHAT I SAW WAS REAL”
Eyewitness Jamarcus Bullard said that he saw the crocodile while walking along the canal and noticed that it was carrying what looked like a lifeless mannequin in its mouth, so he reported the incident to the fire department; “He was holding her tightly and she started swimming towards the bottom of the canal. I couldn’t believe what I saw was real.”
It is known that the woman who lost her life was homeless and lived in a camp set up by homeless people in a nearby forest area.
Authorities announced that the crocodile was killed “by humane methods” and police divers removed parts of the woman’s body from the water channel.
The cause of the woman’s death will be understood through medical examination.
People living in the area said that they had seen small-sized crocodiles before, but they had never witnessed such a large one as in this incident.
