(Tiper Stock Exchange) – Triad signed today with the European Investment Bank (EIB) the contracts relating to the second and third tranches of the 1.9 billion euro loan for the Tyrrhenian Link, the submarine electrical connection which will link the Italian peninsula to Sicily and the latter to Sardinia.
After the first tranche of 500 million euros, signed on 8 November 2022, the loans signed today therefore represent two further tranches a total of 900 million euros for the construction and commissioning of the “East Branch” and the “West Branch” of the Tyrrhenian Link.
For the work, which will be fully operational in 2028, Terna expects a total investment of approximately 3.7 billion euros.
The loans in question, with a duration of around 22 years from the first disbursement date, are characterized by a longer duration and more competitive costs than those on the market, thus falling within Terna’s policy of optimizing the financial structure.
With this new transaction, the total outstanding loans between Terna and the EIB rise to approximately 3.4 billion euro, to which must be added the remaining 500 million euro relating to the further tranches of the loan for the Tyrrhenian Link, already granted by the Bank.
