Terna announces the start of enrollments for the second Master

(Tiper Stock Exchange) – Triad announces that it has kicked off the second edition of the II level Master “Digitalization of the electricity system for the energy transition, promoted by the electricity grid management company, in collaboration with the University of Cagliari, Palermo and Salerno.The master enters within the Tyrrhenian Lab projectfor which they were planned investments of 100 million euros from 2022 to 2026.

Considered the high number of questions received – over 170 in just two months – and the positive participation in the first edition, it was decided to expand the number of places available at the three Universities, which rise to 19 from 15.

Students in possession of Master’s degree in technical-scientific subjects (physics, computer science, engineering, mathematics, data science), which they will have time until September 4th. Following the eligibility check by the universities involved, Terna will proceed with the evaluation of applications and to selection of those who will take part in the second of the three scheduled editions. The course will start next November and will have duration of 12 months.

The Master will be composed of qfour modules for a total of 60 training credits, with personalized paths based on the previous academic experiences of the participants, programming workshops and practical activities in the field. After the course, the selected students will be hired in Terna’s local offices and will be able to operate as experts in: algorithms and models for the electricity market, analysis and regulation systems, management of field devices, station automation systems (SAS) and station IoT systems.

The Tyrrhenian Labof which he is Scientific Coordinator Francis Del PizzoGrid Development and Dispatching Strategies Director of Terna, has the objective of setting up a training center of excellence distributed in the offices of the three respective cities where the cables of the Tyrrhenian Link, Terna’s submarine power line that will connect Campania, Sicily and Sardinia, will land, for a total of 950 km of connection and 3.7 billion euro of investments .
