In the morning competitions of the closing day of the European Swimming Championships, he was the only Finn to compete Leonie Tenzer qualified for the continuation in the 400 meter freestyle. Tenzer was 19th in the heats with a time of 4:25.40. 4:14.77 of the bottom time of the preliminary heats was won by Portugal Francisca Martins.
