In Maputo, the capital located in the southern tip of the country, hundreds of discontented people were dispersed by tear gas and rubber bullets.
In Nampula, the northern province of the country, nearly 2,000 km from the capital, AFP reports persistent tensions with scuffles between demonstrators and the police, blocked streets and barricades of burning tires.
Since the start of the protests last week, these clashes have caused the death of at least 11 people.
