The Russian occupation government in Kherson announces that the city is to be evacuated on civilians as Ukrainian forces approach. From the city comes information about looting and unrest.
Ukraine’s military leadership says that a large part of Kherson’s population has left the city and that “Russian occupiers who remain in the city are dressing in civilian clothes and settling in the abandoned premises,” and that Russian forces are preparing for street fighting.
At the same time, the think tank ISW states that the Russian retreat from the Kherson region continues.
