At 4-5 in the tiebreaker, the 33-year-old Dane saved two match points through as many serves. In the next game, which took over ten minutes, the 91-ranked Wozniacki decided on her sixth break point and was able to advance to 6-5.
She then held her serve and was able to win the match after Fernandez hit a forehand in a match that featured furious baseline duels.

When the victory was complete, Wozniacki thanked the small crowd that was on court one with kisses 23.25 Swedish time. Andy Murray’s doubles match had attracted the large crowd and attention on the adjacent center court.
The match started on a different track
The match started on court 12 but was moved due to darkness at 3-3 in the third set. The players thought that the match would be finished on Friday and after some confusion the referee said that the match would be postponed as there was a risk of more rain in London tomorrow.
The break around the lane change meant there was an hour’s break.
