There were expectations for Osaka, winner of four Grand Slam titles, after she had a match point against eventual French Open winner Iga Swiatek in the second round just over a month ago.

– I’m a little disappointed because I wanted to do really well. I feel like I spend a lot of time on it. There’s always next year, so… Osaka said after the early exit, according to Reuters.
