On New Year’s Eve 2013, a twelve-year-old boy was shot and stabbed in Borås.
Now a man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder – ten years after it happened, Borås Tidning reports.
The twelve-year-old was on his way to a New Year’s party with his cousin when he was attacked and suffered life-threatening injuries. The crime, which has been unsolved since then, can now be solved.
In the summer of 2021, a man was arrested in his absence and in September this year he was detained at the Borås district court, suspected of attempted murder and serious weapons offences.
– We asked him to be extradited from another country, says Chief Prosecutor Lena Medelius at the National Unit against International and Organized Crime, to BT.
Documents in the case show that the prosecutor relies on DNA evidence, but she is tight-lipped about the details.
The detained man denies any crime.
