Telfar and Eastpak finally unveil their collaboration

Telfar and Eastpak teamed up for a blind sale that was a hit. Since Friday, April 15, 2022, the collection is available again.

The bold New York label Telfar talked about him again. Remember, on March 23, he announced the pre-orders of his new collaboration through an Instagram post. The problem? He had not disclosed either the brand or the product at the heart of it. It didn’t take long for fans of the Telfar Clemens label to realize that these pre-orders would be held blind. A real marketing coup since the products were sold in just a few minutes!

It’s actually with Eastpak that Telfar has partnered. The result of their collaboration: three tote bags in three different sizes (L, M and S) and a mini circular handbag each taking up the minimalist design of the iconic shopping bags by Telfar, this time in Eastpak’s signature nylon canvas. These highly desirable backpacks or shoulder bags are once again available at two-label outlets as well as at the Samaritan Parisian, at prices ranging from 100 to 180 euros.

What explains the mad success of Telfar?

By creating its brand in 2005, Telfar Clemens has decided to advocate fashion without ethnic, class or gender distinctions. His genderless and minimalist pieces did not immediately place him at the forefront of the New York fashion scene. A committed designer, Telfar Clemens supported the American political movement in 2019 Black Lives matter by imagining a series of T-shirts that paid tribute to the African-American community. A true icon, he continues to break the border between luxury and high-end by collaborating with streetwear brands like GAP Where converse and making the sentence “not for you – for everyone” his signature. But its strongest symbol is undoubtedly its shopping bags, a tote bag in a vegan material available in a multitude of colors, seen for the first time during the fall-winter 2014 fashion show.

Now a symbol of fashion inclusiveness due to its affordable price, between 150 and 257 dollars, and defying all luxury codes, it has lived up to its nickname of Bushwick Birkin (reference to the Brooklyn district in which the designer works and to the mythical Hermès handbag). Adored by the biggest stars like Selena Gomez, Lil Nas X or Zoe Kravitzthis shopping bag has become a real it-bag.
