Under the aegis of a sponsor, 270,000 volunteers – sports clubs, associations, companies, schools – are mobilizing in favor of the Telethon through various forms of commitment. Together, they help move the lines so that, each year, the amount of the donation increases.

Individuals and businesses can donate to the Telethon. These contributors thus fully participate in the advances in research carried out by AFM-Telethon. But that’s not all ! In addition to helping medical research, donations help patients and their families through the various phases of the disease.

How to make a donation ?

It is possible to donate online. You should know that, for taxable persons, the Telethon donation is tax deductible!

Telethon: donation and tax reduction

The AFM-Telethon being a recognized association of public utility, persons liable for income tax can deduct their donation and be reimbursed up to 66% of the amount of the donation, within the limit of 20% of the taxable income. . This tax deduction is possible if the total amount of annual donations paid to associations is correctly reported in the boxes provided for this purpose on the income tax return.

For your information, a donation of 80 € will simply cost 27.20 € to its donor after the 66% tax reduction. An amount of € 100 is equivalent to making a donation of € 34 thanks to the tax reduction and a donation of € 150 will actually cost € 51.

What is the money collected by the Telethon used for?

In 2020, the activities of the AFM-Telethon, all funding combined, raised 89 million euros. You should know that AFM-Telethon’s investments are substantial because the technologies used and the missions implemented are expensive.

Thus, 68.2 million euros were dedicated to “Healing” missions (emergence innovative therapies to fight against illness and cure) and “Help” (actions with patients and their families). 2.4 million euros to “Communicate” (inform about progress, improve knowledge of diseases) of theAFM. 9.2 million euros took the form of advances and investments for the “Healing” mission.

The collection costs are not trivial and represent a little more than 13% of the totalmoney collected in 2020. And 9 million euros were allocated to management costs.

It should be understood that these expenses are essential to continue the mobilization and continue to help patients and their families.
