The service that is WhatsApp’s biggest rival Telegram, announced today the “Sweepstakes on Channels” infrastructure.
The company published a statement on this subject and said the following about the process: quoted: “Channel owners can now launch giveaways to distribute random prizes among their followers. This is a great way if you want to promote your channel, get new subscribers or reward existing ones. Sweepstakes have been a popular trend on social media for some time, but until now it has been impossible to organize them in a verifiable, transparent and fast way. Today we are changing that. This will allow millions of users to receive rewards such as “Premium” subscriptions and Telegram, will ensure fair selection of winners. Channel owners can create a Giveaway with just a few taps. Telegram will randomly select the winners and distribute the prizes according to the rules set by the kana owners.

Lucky winners will receive links with gift codes for public verification of their winnings. Each code includes a free subscription to Telegram Premium, but organizers can also add other prizes on top (like a Tesla!) to spice things up.
