Tekken 7 is the best-selling Tekken game, with over 9 million copies sold, according to producer Katsuhiro Harada’s announcement.
The title of best-selling Tekken game went from Tekken 3, which has held this title since 1997, to Tekken 7. Tekken 3, which held this title for more than 25 years, sold 8.5 million copies. Katsuhiro Harada, who has been working on Tekken games for 27 years, stated in a post shared on Twitter that Tekken 7 became the best-selling game in the history of the series with 9 million sales.

Before Tekken 7, which was released in 2015, reached 9 million sales, it was the game that came closest to Tekken 3’s sales number, Tekken 5, released in 2004. Tekken 5 has sold 8.2 million copies in total. According to statistics shared by Katsuhiro Harada, the entire Tekken franchise has now sold more than 53 million copies worldwide.
Tekken 7 has become one of the longest running games in the series, the console version of the game will turn 5 years old on June 2nd. Street Fighter 6 was announced this February. Tekken 8 was also on the “Nvidia Geforce Game Leaks” list, which was bombed last September.
