TEHEIURA KOH LANTA. While participating in his fifth edition of Koh Lanta, Teheiura Teahui was eliminated from the show following the discovery of cheating. He speaks on the matter.

During episode 11 of this anniversary season, the production and Denis Brogniart revealed to viewers that this iconic adventurer of the TF1 show had cheated. The presenter reports that Teheiura allegedly asked Polynesian fishermen to feed him on two occasions. Teheiura confirmed these accusations. As a result, he was eliminated from Koh Lanta, disqualified for cheating. However, he remains in the adventure since joins the final jury of the show, which decides each year on the winning candidate of the season.
Faced with Denis Brogniart, who had taken him aside on the island of the banished to discuss it, Teheiura was confused. “Even I don’t understand how I was able to cross that line without limit. Maybe I was more of myself.” A moment of bewilderment which costs Teheiura dear who, despite his exile in episode 10, could still dream of returning to the main adventure during the orienteering race. It was without counting the scandal of this cheating which spoils his image of perfect adventurer but also the image of the Koh Lanta program.
“It’s going to weigh on me for the rest of my life”
During his interview with Denis Brogniart, Teheiura expressed his remorse and made his mea culpa, which of course did not prevent him from being eliminated from the adventure. Well aware that he had broken one of the most sacred rules of the show Teheiura affirms that this gesture “will weigh down my whole life, Denis. All my life. What happened, my irreparable gesture at the time, that will serve as a lesson to me. ” It is difficult to say now if Teheiura signed here his very last participation in Koh Lanta as this act can have complex repercussions for the show. If it is indeed his last time in Koh Lanta, Teheiura would come out here through the back door of an adventure to which he has nevertheless contributed a lot.
For LCI, a member of the production of Koh Lanta spoke about the internal investigation that took place during the filming of the all stars season 2021 and which allowed Teheiura to be cheated. “He recognized the facts right away. He told us that it was very bad for him to have this burden on his conscience. So he knew that we were investigating and that he expected a sanction. , without knowing which one, before Denis arrived “. As we can see in the sequence broadcast in episode 11 of Koh Lanta: The Legend, Teheiura follows Denis Brogniart without making history and did not seek to deny the facts.
For 20 minutes, Teheiura Teahui explains that “the fact of confessing freed me. I was really not well and the fact of confessing everything to Julien Magne really relieved me. By doing that, I remain myself. , I keep my line of conduct, my values. I made a mistake, I assume and we will see. ” Still in the columns of the daily, the fallen candidate explains that he was “struggling to be 100% in the adventure and in the trials.” Being confused therefore allowed him to free himself from a moral weight that weighed on his shoulders.
“A moment of bewilderment” but an exemplary sanction
This same member of Koh Lanta’s production explains the decision that led to Teheiura’s disqualification for disloyal behavior. “We all agreed that he had had an absence, a moment of bewilderment. But he organized a cheating that could have been prolonged and would have given him a real advantage over the other adventurers.” If the adventurer’s gesture seems to have been excused, a sanction should therefore be put in place to prevent this from continuing but also to make an example of this inglorious game for the image of the program.
Some other Koh Lanta: The Legend candidates have spoken, anonymously or not, about the elimination of Teheiura. “The most shocking is that they did not share with everyone” an anonymized competitor gets carried away in the columns of the Parisian. “We are many to think that the game is distorted” also said one of the last eliminated from the adventure in the Ile-de-France newspaper. “When you have a full stomach and clear ideas, you are necessarily at an advantage. What exactly happened? Teheiura gives details
In an interview published in the columns of the Parisian, Teheiura speaks about the unfolding of the facts. He explains in particular that he made a sign to a fisherman and that the latter gave him food. “I saw a person on his boat looking towards me, I was on the beach. I gave him a sign, I couldn’t resist, unlike every time my fellow adventurers asked me to do so. . I didn’t speak to him, he was quite far away. A little later, he pointed to a place with his finger. I went there and saw some food, certainly some leftovers from his meal. moment, not very far in the water, there were other adventurers with whom I shared. ” Teheiura, however, did not deliver the names of the other adventurers who also benefited from this food delivery. The Parisian however affirms that, according to his information, Claude and Sam would be concerned.
Also according to information from the Parisian, Teheiura and other adventurers from Koh Lanta would have eaten vegetables, a steak with fries and received a papaya which was not yet ripe. The candidate eliminated for cheating confirmed this information in an interview but did not say that this food had constituted an advantage over possible tests. “Physically, I don’t think so, because there was no test right after. But immediately, when we eat, psychologically, we are well.”
Denis Brogniart shows his support
In a live broadcast on his official Instagram account, Denis Brogniart spoke at length about the elimination of Teheiura in Koh Lanta: The Legend. He said in particular that he was very surprised that Teheiura was guilty of such a gesture, but he especially insisted to Internet users that this did not detract from the adventurer’s past journey. He spoke directly to Teheiura in these terms “Teheiura, you made a mistake, you had a moment of weakness, but that does not call into question anything, it does not call into question the adventurer that you are . “
With Koh Lanta: The Legend, Teheiura thus participated in its fifth season of Koh Lanta. He is thus one of the most successful candidates on the show. And for a simple reason, Teheiura Teahui is for many an inspiration to participate in the survival game of TF1. Sam thus never concealed that he watched Teheiura’s exploits on television when he was younger and that he dreamed of participating in a season with him, something he subsequently did twice.
An excellent survivor, very convincing on the tests, Teheiura however sometimes lacked discernment during the councils where he was able to show himself weaker. We saw him in 2020 when he was eliminated when he and his adventure buddy, Charlotte, each had an immunity collar. If he is one of the most successful candidates in the individual events, Teheiura had never won Koh Lanta.
Born on May 7, 1978 in Papeete, Teheiura Teahui became known in the survival program of TF1 Koh Lanta. After a childhood on the island of Taha’a, Teheiura studies in Montpellier in sports-studies. He discovered a passion for cooking and graduated in Sète. It was in 2011 that he participated for the first time in Koh Lanta, during a season in Raja Ampat in Indonesia. It was during this season that he achieved his best place in the show: a finalist, he however failed to win against Gérard who won this season by 7 votes to 2.
Teheiura had however sufficiently marked the spirits by its capacities on the tests and in survival on the camp so that the production recalls it. Subsequently, he will participate in Koh Lanta The Revenge of the Heroes in 2012, the New Edition in 2014 but also The Island of Heroes in 2020. All participation put together, he won no less than 17 individual events in Koh Lanta , a little less than his adventure rival Claude and his 20 victories to date. He then participates in Koh Lanta: The Legend in 2021 of which he ends up disqualified for cheating in episode 11.
Teheiura Teahui’s popularity allowed her to appear in several shows after her stint in Koh Lanta. He participated in Fort Boyard in 2013 then in Ninja Warrior in 2016. He was entrusted with the co-animation of the program Ecole Aventure on Teletoon + with Laurent Maistret from 2017 to 2018. In 2020, he tried his hand at the program District Z presented by Denis Brogniart.
In life, Teheiura Teahui is a cook. He has owned his own food truck, called Le Manatoa (the warrior spirit in Tahitian), since 2015 where he works in Cazouls-lès-Béziers in Hérault. On the private side, Teheiura is married to Céline, a school principal. They gave birth to four children: Manavai, Mihivai, Vainanui and Vaitoanui.
