It was at 00.17 last night that the alarm came in about a car that overturned south of county road 268 in Karby in Vallentuna municipality. Four people were traveling in the car.
A 19-year-old man has died, and next of kin have been notified. Three other people were taken by ambulance to hospital, and two of them are seriously injured. The third is said to be unharmed.
– A preliminary investigation is underway with the classifications of causing the death of another, causing bodily harm and negligence in traffic, says police spokesperson Anna Westberg.
Three of the people involved are men and the fourth is a woman, all in their 20s.
Witnesses have told the police that the car was driven at high speed before the accident occurred.
– I know we talked to a number of witnesses, but I can’t say exactly where they were. They have told, among other things, that the car was driven at high speed before turning around and driving off the road, says Anna Westberg.
There is no information on any suspects at this time. The car has been impounded for a technical examination.
