Teen faces attempt murder charge after cab driver shot

A 17-year-old male faces an attempt murder charge after a cab driver was shot in the leg and found slumped over in his vehicle on Seneca Road, south of Fourth Line Road on Friday night.

Six Nations Police and paramedics were dispatched to the scene at about 8:11 pm Upon arrival they found a taxi cab partially in the ditch. They then discovered the driver had been shot.

The taxi cab driver was transported to hospital by paramedics where he is in stable but critical condition, police said.

Police found a suspect near the scene and arrested him for aggravated assault. The accused also faces charges of robbery with a firearm, assault with a weapon, three counts of failing to comply with release orders and several firearms-related offences, police said.
