Teen charged in June fatal collision near Waterford

A 16-year-old is facing four driving charges including careless driving causing death after a fatal crash near Waterford on June 6.

Norfolk OPP say a vehicle struck another, ejecting a passenger from one of the cars at the intersection of Windham East Quarter Line Road and Windham Road 9.

One victim died and four others were injured and taken to Norfolk General Hospital.

Police charged the teen with careless driving causing death, careless driving causing bodily harm, driving while a passenger under 16 isn’t wearing a seat belt, and not having a qualified driver along despite holding only a G1 license.

The accused will appear in Simcoe’s Ontario Court of Justice later.
