Ice hockey player Teemu Pulkkinen moves from the Russian Ice Hockey League KHL to the Schwenninger Wild Wings, who play in the German main league.
Pulkkinen was the only Finn left in the KHL after Russia started the war of aggression against Ukraine. Pulkkinen’s decision has been criticized and he was banned from Leijoni’s activities, for example.
The 32-year-old striker played the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 seasons in Traktor Chelyabinsk and the previous season in Kunlun Red Star.
– I want to thank the club for the opportunity to play in the German premier league, because I have heard a lot of good things about the country’s ice hockey. I’m excited to play for Wild Wings. Now it’s my time to give something back for the trust I received, Pulkkinen said in the club’s press release.
