Ted Lasso: is the series really over?

Ted Lasso is the series really over

TED LASSO. The last episode of season 3 of Ted Lasso is available on Apple TV+. Is this really the series finale, or can a season 4 be released?

[Mis à jour le 31 mai 2023 à 9h49] Ted Lasso, is it really over? In any case, this is what fans are wondering, who have already been able to discover the last episode of season 3 on Apple TV + this Wednesday, May 31, 2023. Long announced as the series finale, the ambiguity was maintained during the entire duration of the broadcast. Officially, Apple TV+ is talking about a “season finale” for episode 12, released this Wednesday, and hasn’t commented on the rumored end of the comedy series.

But it seems that it is indeed the end of Ted Lasso. Lead actor Jason Sudeikis says Season 3 is “the end of the story we wanted to tell”, but leaves the door open for potential spin-offs. On Twitter, Ted Lasso’s official account also announced what appears to be the end of the series: “Tonight we play our last match.” For his part, production designer Paul Cripps confirmed on his Instagram account that this is “Ted Lasso’s last episode”, before thanking the various people involved in the production. Fans can therefore prepare to say goodbye to this host of characters they have adored during these three seasons.

Ted Lasso is a UFO in the current television landscape. This feel-good comedy-drama (at least on the surface, because it basically deals with serious subjects) set in an English football team is a real critical and popular success. This American series has won numerous awards since the start of its broadcast in 2020, including a Golden Globe but also 4 Emmy Awards. If you want to see the episodes in legal streaming, be aware that a subscription to Apple TV + costs € 6.99 per month.

American football coach, Ted Lasso is recruited to train the British football team AFC Richmond, while he knows nothing about sport. The objective of Rebecca Welton, owner of the club, is clear: to get revenge on her ex-husband by sinking his team. But with optimism and determination, Ted Lasso could well reverse the trend for AFC Richmond. The first season of Ted Lasso, consisting of ten episodes, airs from August 14 to October 2, 2020.

In Ted Lasso Season 2, AFC Richmond are looking to improve their results in order to return to the Premier League. A psychologist, Sharon Fieldstone, moves into the club to improve the team’s mood. For his part, Ted fights against his personal difficulties in order to lead Richmond to victory, while Nathan Shelley tries to stand out. The second season of Ted Lasso, consisting of 12 episodes, airs on Apple TV+ from July 23, 2021 to October 8, 2021.

The third season of Ted Lasso is the series’ last, as Jason Sudeikis and Brett Goldstein hinted. Composed of 12 episodes, it airs on Wednesdays, from March 15, 2023 to May 31, 2023, still on Apple TV+. In these final episodes, the rivalry between Ted and Nathan is played out on the field, since the latter has joined Rupert’s team.
